Notes
How to Freeze Maple Sausage Breakfast Patties
Freezing these patties properly is the key to keeping their texture and flavor fresh. Begin by allowing patties to cool completely (about 15 mins). Then, lay them in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for 1 hour. Finally, transfer the semi-frozen patties to a freezer bag or airtight container.
How Long Do Frozen Maple Sausage Breakfast Patties Last?
As a general rule of thumb, most homemade frozen food is best eaten within 2 to 3 months. While food kept continuously frozen at 0° F remains safe to eat indefinitely, its quality, flavor, and texture will degrade over time, and it may develop freezer burn.
How to Prepare Frozen Breakfast Sandwiches
If using egg, it is recommended to freeze pre-cooked egg separately for one hour as to not introduce too much moisture into the sandwich. After patties and eggs are are frozen (1 hour), assemble breakfast sandwiches how you like, leaving condiments out. Wrap individually in parchment paper and store in large zipper bag for easy access.
